Happy Thanksgiving!

To all my friends and family!

I hope you are all enjoying the season of counting your blessings!
I am grateful for so much including my husband who is working so hard today to make a wonderful meal for Katie, myself and him. He's smoking a turkey breast on the grill and he is making his signature dressing and some mashed potatoes for Katie. Rolls are rising and I am getting ready to make a green bean casserole and cherry chiffon for dessert. I am sure we will be eating this food for days. I do have a new recipe I plan on trying this weekend with the turkey leftovers. Turkey Noodle and Wild Rice Casserole. Sounds yummy. If it turns out, I will post the recipe!
Kevin went out this morning and bought me a newspaper. I can't believe they are charging $3 for the paper. But, I have been looking at the Black Friday ads to see if it is worth going out and fighting the crowds. I think it might be worth the trip to Columbia. We learned last year that going to WalMart in a small town is NOT a good idea for Black Friday. EVERYONE was there.
I better get in the shower.
Have a blessed day and wonderful weekend too!!!
Blessings~
Angel

Thankful Thursday

I have so many things to be thankful for.
But, today I am feeling humbly blessed that my hubby has a good job and steady income. So many people are struggling, losing their jobs and wondering how they're going to make ends meet in today's economy. Watching the news is scary as you see more and more layoffs and businesses closing. Those are people and families and I pray for those who are being affected.
Lately, Kevin has been thinking of retiring. He has crunched the numbers to see where we stand. Thankfully he doesn't have to retire yet.
For that I am thankful to God from whom ALL blessings flow!

Thanksgiving

I am thankful for my family.
And friends- especially the Vasey family who has accepted our youngest son Brian into their family. That is where he is today.

I am thankful for food.
But, Oh, what a lot of food for just 3 people.
Anybody want to come over?

THANKFUL FOR FRIENDS!
I am so thankful for my friends!

God has blessed me with wonderful friends at every stage of my life.
There are several I so wish I had not lost touch with.
I have not met any friends here in South Carolina yet. But I have friends in so many states, it's unbelievable. I'd list my friends that I am thankful for, but I am sure I'd forget a name. So, if you are reading this.... I am thankful for YOU!

Thankful Thursday

I have SO much to be thankful for that it is hard to narrow it down to one thing. But yesterday we signed the final paperwork for the sale of our house and I KNOW without a doubt that we could not have done it without God's help! Yes, it cost us some money to sell it (a lot.) But, our wonderful realtor took a much smaller percentage than she had to. After the inspection, the buyers asked for only a few repairs. Despite all of the rain, we had a fence built in a matter of a few days. It all happened very quickly and went pretty smoothly.
We had wonderful friends there in Georgia who looked out for us and checked on the house.
We had a safe trip to Georgia and back too. It was a LONG day in the car (over 10 hours).
But I am thankful that
IT IS DONE!

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful for Jesus, for his sacrifice* so that I can bring my
requests directly to a loving God who calls me Beloved daughter and friend.

*The whole story:
Romans 5.6-11
When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. Now no one is likely to die for a good person, though someone might be willing to die for a person who is especially good. But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. And since we have been made right in God's sight by the blood of Christ, He will certainly save us from God's judgement. For since we were restored to friendship with God by the death of His Son while we were still His enemies, we will certainly be delivered from eternal punishment by His life. So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God- all because of what our Lord Jesus Christ has done for us in making us friends of God.

Thankful Thursday

I am so thankful for a place to call home. There are many people without a home. It could so easily be me. But God brought us to where we are and He shows Himself to us on a regular basis in this place we call home.
