Our 2010 Christmas

Here are some pics from our family Christmas. We celebrated it on New Year's Day this year since the boys spent their Christmas day with their in-laws as they plan to do every other year. I don't mind so much when we celebrate Christmas as long as we do! :-)

Of course, this year was ALL about the baby!

It was Gabe's first Christmas and we spoiled him (just a little).

I don't even remember doing this much shopping!!!!

It was Paisley's first Christmas too!!!!

LOTS of Holiday Photos! (Finally)

We had a WONDERFUL time when the kids were here for Christmas.
Brian was the first to arrive. Katie had taken a flight to Wichita to ride back with him in his car. They drove straight through. Jake and Megan and sweet Trixie were not far behind, but they got stuck in traffic from an accident up ahead of them so they ended up spending the night in Tennessee. We had a wonderful Christmas and fabulous quality time. There was food and fun and GAMES, games, games! We played our new Christmas games of Life Twists and Turns, Farkle, Dicecapades, Funglish and Quelf (a very crazy game!).
Jake and Megan headed home and then Brian's fiancee, Alli arrived the next day and we had a little mini Christmas with her. We also welcomed in the new year with them.
It was all over so quickly and I was back to missing the kids and counting the days until I see them again.
I haven't taken the time to put my memory card in the computer and download the photos until now. And I got an external hard drive for Christmas so some of them were already on it and not on my card. But, I think there is enough of a variety on my card to show on my blog.

It's Almost Christmas!

Time sure does fly this time of year. I need to post about it so I learn my lesson and not procrastinate to much next year. I'll never learn though.
I always have such grand plans and they never completely pan out!
I have made some crafts but not as many as I was going to.
I'll post those as soon as I finish givin' em away! :-)
Kevin and I went to the base Christmas party on Saturday. It was semi formal and for the first time ever it wasn't me buying something to wear- it was Kevin. He just didn't have anything "semi formal" to wear. So on Thursday when I was hosting my Bunco bunch, he and Katie went to find him something to wear. He looked so handsome on Saturday evening in his new duds.

I wore a blouse and skirt from 4 Christmas parties ago. But it was new to South Carolina so I didn't mind. We had fun. Another party this Friday night. But first I take Katie to the airport to get on a plane to Kansas so she can help Brian drive here. They'll be here on Monday and Jake and Megan should be here Wednesday. Then Alli flies in on the 29th.
I am SO excited that the kids are coming!! I can hardly wait!!!
I probably won't be back here until the new year so

Long Time No Post = Long Post

Happy New Year everybody!
I've not posted in 11 days! I've tried to savor every minute of my kids visit! Sadly Jake, Megan and their sweet beagle Trixie left this morning. (Brian is still here for one more week.) We played lots of games, did lots of shopping, ate lots of food and truly enjoyed their visit! Megan taught Katie and I how to make a new craft. I can't show you just yet as I made one to send to a certain young man who reads my blog. It's pretty darn cool though!

I wasn't sure what to expect when Jake told me they were bringing their dog. But, she was so well-behaved.

Jake has taught her lots of tricks. She never barked unless Jake told her to "speak". She didn't have any accidents until the last night here. She had just went outside though so we think maybe she has a bladder infection. Coincidentally, so do I. *sigh*
We caught the puppy bug I think. We're looking at adopting one of our own. Probably when Katie goes off to college.
Kevin REALLY spoiled the puppy. I can see that he will be spoiling our grandkids rotten some day. Unfortunately, that day will not be as soon as we had thought. Sadly, we found out a couple of weeks before their visit that Megan had miscarried. She later found out that her pregnancy had been a rare "Partial Molar" pregnancy. Her health will have to be monitored closely over the next year and she will not be able to get pregnant again any time soon. That was a big shock and hit them a little hard I think. Us too. We had really gotten excited about the thought of being grandparents. It WILL happen, but in due time (God's timing). Your thoughts and prayers for Jake and Megan are greatly appreciated. They had Christmas and their trip here to help distract them temporarily.
Speaking of Christmas, we celebrated as soon as they arrived last Sunday afternoon.

I think everyone was delighted with their gifts. The aftermath was something else!

Most of the week the weather was just gorgeous. I hope the weather stays good for their trip home.
We miss them already.
