Tackle It Tuesday Meme

Starting back to my weekly posts.... and starting SMALL!
My tackle today was to clean off my desk and STAMP! Here I am ready to stamp as soon as I finish my short post!
Here is the said desk
BEFORE

And
AFTER! Yeah for me!
Now for Part 2- to stamp.
Hopefully I will post on my stamping blog this afternoon!
Have a blessed day!

(On a totally unrelated note:
A bird just flew into the window. That happens at least once a day. Poor things!)

Tackle it Tuesday

I finally had something worthy of posting on Tackle it Tuesday!
I decorated for Christmas. Here are a few pics!

I don't know how many years now that I have been decorating my tree with Angels in gold and ivory. I am really not tired of it either. But, next year we may try something different. That depends on if I can find what I am looking for on the AFTER Christmas sale racks!
My 3 angels on top of the TV cabinet. The middle one is one of those Fiber Optic lighted Angels, but we didn't plug her in this year.

I went with something fun in the dining room. We have the leaf in our table so the runner looks a little short, but it works for me.

The centerpiece which is a tea light candle holder my aunt gave me. Isn't it pretty? I sat it on a candle pedestal.

There are lots of candles in the dining room too. I think we'll eat by candlelight this year!
My snow family sits on the hearth.

And on the mantle is the Nativity scene I've had for years and years and the kids stockings and my Merry Christmas blocks.

I've got lots to do this week, so I'm not going to be on the computer much. I'll be back as soon as I can!
Have a blessed week!

Tackle it Tuesday

Today I started cleaning and just couldn't stop! My intention was to clean my kitchen, but ended up sweeping and mopping all of the floors. They needed it pretty bad. Here are my before Kitchen pics.

And After

The counter tops and my Cookbook Book case had become catch-alls for papers. And there was a box of papers I needed to sort through. I wish I could tell you I had done that. But instead I moved them into the spare bedroom for another day. I just got caught up in the rest of the cleaning and ran out of time today.

I used the CLR cleaner I received free in the mail from "5 Minutes for Mom". That stuff works very well!

Tackle it Tuesday

Tackle It Tuesday Meme
Today's Tackle was my bathrooms!
I got this bottle of CLR in the mail from "5 Minutes for Mom" so I could participate in their CLR Edition of Tackle it Tuesday. If nothing else, it was a free bottle of cleaner, right? I used it on my bathtubs with near success. I say near because my tub has a mean water stain on the bottom and I have worked at it before with not much success. The CLR got rid of quite a bit. And my favorite part of the CLR was how easy it was to just wipe off the grime from the rounded sides of the tub. I usually have to scrub there. Because of my back I don't clean tubs very often! CLR made cleaning easy.
I had already read Peggy's Tackle so knew to wear gloves. And I sure am glad I did. I did all of the cleaning with my right hand and that right glove was horribly stained compared to the left! I'd say it would be pretty hard on your skin!
The smell of this cleaner is different than any other I've experienced. I like it!
Here are my before and after bathroom pics.

Still waiting for Kevin to hang my pretties, but he did get the curtains hung.
Oh, and I'd definitely recommend CLR!

Tackle it Tuesday

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

Yesterday was a day off for my sweet hubby. And he spent nearly the entire day hanging curtains and pictures for me. And today I get to show you our guest room for Tackle it Tuesday.
Here is is before:

It certainly didn't happen in one day, but it did get done.

The decor in this room is my favorite! At our house in Kansas we had a basement and a family room. And we decorated the room in a "log cabin" feel. Kevin even built a log cabin wall. It was so cool. We were so sad to have to leave that house. I kept the knick knacks and things and we now use it for our guest room. But one of these days I plan to change my living room into this rustic look as well.
Thanks for visiting!

Tackle it Tuesday

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

We did a lot of work on the house over the weekend. Kevin worked in the garage and he hung some pictures for me. He does such a great job at hanging things....uses his measuring tape and level and everything. I will wait and wait for him to hang things rather than do it myself. And so I have waited! But this last weekend he hung about half my pictures and he promised that he would finish this coming weekend.

Yesterday I had an MRI appointment. I haven't had an MRI on my back since the pain began so I am looking forward to finding out what the new MRI shows. Kevin came to the appointment as well to show support. He is such a wonderful husband. On the way home, he suggested we stop at a furniture store to see what they had for a kitchen table. We've been using a folding card table in the kitchen! We've never had a dining room AND a breakfast nook and our dining room table was too big for the kitchen. Kevin wanted a counter height table so we could see over the deck rail when we're eating. We love to watch the wildlife! We found the table finally and a great price so we brought it home last night and Kevin put it together.

See the folding chair? And so.....today's Tackle it Tuesday features my kitchen! Please excuse the pictures. My camera thinks there is plenty of light due to that enormous picture window. I haven't figured out how to tell it to flash anyway!

All clean and a new table. Yeah! I will see if I can get a better picture when the sun goes down! Oh and you can't see it in the picture, but I have a little bookshelf next to the other window and it holds my cookbooks. :-)
Have a great Tuesday!

Tackle it Tuesday

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

Once again I am following my BFF Peggy in a weekly feature. Today is "Tackle it Tuesday" and the concept is to tackle a project (of any kind) taking before and after pictures and posting it on your blog. Since I have a LOT of projects to tackle it only makes sense to make it blogable.

Today I decided it was past time to repot my plants. Here was the before picture:
Right after I started digging in to the first plant, I realized I did not have a big enough planter for it. The roots were filling the pot it was in and it needed a lot more room and not the little more room I was planning to give it. So, I got into my car and drove to Dollar General which is very close to our house. They had already clearanced their lawn and garden stuff so I went a little further down the road to Family Dollar where I got a couple of large planters and some more potting soil.
I tried to separate one of the plants.
I hope they make it.
Can you believe ALL of these plants except for the one on the far right came in that littlest yellow and blue pot? It was a Thank You gift from Peggy after the twins were born. I usually don't have luck with plants, but these ones must be hardy! They have survived over a year and grown considerably!
Thanks for Visiting!
